Booking systems for salons in Hungary in 2026: seven options and their real monthly cost

Magor Megyeri ·

In short

Salons and studios in Hungary usually choose from seven booking options in 2026: FoglalGo, Salonic, Fresha, Minup, SumUp Bookings, SimplyBook.me and the Google Calendar booking page. According to the public price lists (12 October 2026), working on your own costs between HUF 0 and HUF 7,874 a month. FoglalGo, Minup and SimplyBook.me have free plans, and SumUp Bookings and Google Calendar have no monthly fee. With three team members, FoglalGo Pro costs HUF 3,990 a month, Fresha Team HUF 11,811 and Salonic Smart with two extra calendars HUF 12,700 gross.

Who suits what? For SMS reminders and Google Calendar sync, Salonic or Minup; for new clients from a marketplace, Fresha; for prepaid bookings with no monthly fee, SumUp Bookings. For many add-ons, SimplyBook.me; for a single service, Google Calendar is enough. FoglalGo is a good choice if you want a fixed fee in forints with no VAT, commission or per-member fee, and email notifications are enough. FoglalGo is our product, so the article also says what the others can do and we cannot.

How we compared them

We looked at seven tools that salons, studios and independent professionals in Hungary use today to take online bookings. For each, we opened the provider’s public price list or help page on 12 October 2026. We did not estimate, and we did not ask for custom quotes.

We worked out the fees for three situations: on your own, with three team members and with six. Where the price list shows net prices, we added 27% VAT, because a VAT-exempt sole trader pays that. If your business is VAT-registered and reclaims VAT, compare the net prices. Euro fees are converted at HUF 400/€.

We develop FoglalGo, so it is first in the list. The order is not a ranking: the other systems follow the order of our comparison pages. If a system is missing, we have not checked its price list, and we do not quote figures for it.

What does a month cost? Three situations, seven systems

The table shows the cheapest plan that covers the given team size. SMS, card payments and commission come on top of the monthly fee, so they have their own column.

Two things stand out. On your own, there are several free or no-monthly-fee options, and the limits decide: how many services and bookings fit in. With a team, the per-member fee makes the difference: with six team members, the gap between the most and the least expensive paid plan is over HUF 17,000 a month.

1. FoglalGo: a fixed fee in forints, no commission

Who it suits: sole traders and small teams who already have their clients and want a predictable monthly fee.

  • Strength: Start plan for HUF 0 with no time limit (1 team member, 3 services, 30 online bookings a month). Pro is HUF 3,990 with 3 team members, Business HUF 5,990 with unlimited team members. No VAT is added, and there is no commission or per-member fee. Hungarian interface, contract and support; your own booking link, QR code and a widget for your website.
  • Watch out for: No SMS reminders, no Google Calendar sync and no client marketplace. Online card payment is marked “coming soon”, and there is no bulk client import. Reminder emails start with the Pro plan.

Details: pricing and features.

2. Salonic: SMS and Google Calendar in a Hungarian system

Who it suits: salons that need SMS reminders, card deposits or Google Calendar sync.

  • Strength: A Hungarian system with SMS (HUF 40 each, 50 included in the Pro plan), Google Calendar integration and online card deposits already in the Smart plan. 14-day trial, no minimum term.
  • Watch out for: The fee grows per calendar: Smart is HUF 6,200 + VAT with one calendar, and each extra calendar is HUF 1,900 + VAT. There is no free plan.

Full comparison: Salonic alternative.

3. Fresha: a marketplace for new clients

Who it suits: anyone who wants new clients from a nationwide marketplace and accepts a one-off commission for them.

  • Strength: Its own client marketplace with an app and a website, built-in card payments (1.29% + HUF 75), Hungarian interface.
  • Watch out for: You pay per team member: the Team plan is HUF 3,100 + VAT per member. After the first booking of a new client from the marketplace, a one-off 20% commission applies, at least HUF 750. On the marketplace, clients see you next to the salons nearby.

Full comparison: Fresha alternative.

4. Minup: a free plan for one service

Who it suits: a sole trader who offers one service but gets many bookings, or who needs SMS and Google Calendar sync.

  • Strength: The free plan gives unlimited bookings for 1 service, with reminder emails. From Pro: two-way Google Calendar sync, SMS packages for an extra fee; in Business: online payment, waitlist and passes.
  • Watch out for: You pay in euros, and VAT comes on top. Team members are in the Business plan, with an extra €8 per member.

Full comparison: Minup alternative.

5. SumUp Bookings: no monthly fee, with prepayment

Who it suits: anyone already using SumUp who wants prepaid bookings without a monthly fee.

  • Strength: No sign-up or monthly fee. Prepaid bookings by card, Apple Pay and Google Pay, SMS and email reminders, a free SumUp website with your services.
  • Watch out for: A 2.5% transaction fee applies to fees collected online: HUF 7,500 on HUF 300,000 of online revenue a month. You need a SumUp account, and the booking rules are not detailed on the page.

Full comparison: SumUp Bookings alternative.

6. SimplyBook.me: many add-ons, with booking limits

Who it suits: anyone who needs many add-on features or works with international clients.

  • Strength: A Free plan (1 provider, 50 bookings a month), many add-ons, several payment providers with no transaction fee from SimplyBook.me.
  • Watch out for: Plans are tied to booking numbers (Basic 100, Standard 500 a month), fees are in euros and add-ons in dollars. SMS is bought separately (100 for $8).

Full comparison: SimplyBook.me alternative.

7. Google Calendar: one service, on your own

Who it suits: a sole trader who offers one kind of appointment and lives in Google Calendar.

  • Strength: Available with a personal Google account; handles buffers, a daily limit and a booking window; sends a confirmation and up to 5 reminders.
  • Watch out for: One duration per schedule and one calendar per person, so it does not suit teams or several services. There is no separate client record, and some features need a subscription.

Full comparison: Google Calendar or a booking system.

Which one should you choose? A quick decision table

If you are torn between two, decide with your own numbers: write down your team size, your monthly bookings and how many SMS you would send. Then book an appointment with yourself in both systems from your phone. What you see there is what your clients see.

Before you decide

The fee is only one factor. Handling team members, service lengths, data protection and how you can leave matter just as much. We covered these in the eight-point guide. If you want to know the limits of free plans, read what to look for in a free booking system.
